Plantation, FL – April 9, 2021 – Castle Group, the premier choice for property management is proud to recognize Kristen Searle, VP of Human Resources for her outstanding contribution to the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce HR Insights Conference which took place virtually on Thursday, April 1, 2020. Searle participated on a panel that explored remote work and the impact on the workforce landscape. She was accompanied by Pedro P. Garcia, Director, Learning & Organizational Development for AvMed, and David Restainer, Managing Director, Commercial Real Estate Florida for Douglas Elliman Real Estate. Kristen provided Insights related to how work models are shifting as a result of the pandemic and what we can expect in the future. She elaborated on how the pandemic forced remote and virtual work across the world and how employees and organizations had to rapidly transform how they worked in order to continue business operations.
“The push into a fully remote workforce has proven high productivity levels, but such levels have also resulted in masking an exhausted workforce from the digital overload,” stated Searle. “Well-being has been put front and center as physical, mental, and financial security became paramount – there are more hours in the workday, creating exhaustion and burnout and exposing stress many face trying to balance professional and personal demands (caretakers),” she continued. This virtual work world has also impacted the human connection. Networks, both close and distant, have increased and decreased respectively. No more are the around-the-water cooler talks, a quick 5-minute break to catch up on the most recent local event, or just stopping by to say hello conversations.
The impact of the Biden Administration labor and employment priorities and potential new policies were also discussed at the conference. Other panels throughout the day explored trends and insights with top HR executives from Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, ChenMed, and Piper Aircraft. The event’s keynote speaker, Alexander Alonso, Ph.D., SHRM-SCP, Chief Knowledge Officer for the Society of Human Resources Management gave an in-depth dive regarding analytics and the impact on HR explaining why numbers matter more than ever at this moment. In closing, as vaccinations are becoming more widely available, employers are now tasked with determining how, when, and where the new normal of their operations will occur.
